Paperwork
Procedures done by letter come with a template, written from the checked rules on their page: copy it and fill in the brackets, or Nego asks you the right questions and hands it back ready to send.
17 of the site's 32 procedures have their letter template: the ones done by letter. Each template sits on its procedure page, right after the step by step, the documents to prepare and the pitfalls: you see where it comes in and what to prepare beforehand. Below it, two buttons: “Copy the letter”, which puts it as it is on your clipboard, and “Fill it in with Nego”.
The parts in square brackets are yours to fill in: “[Prénom Nom]” (first name and surname), “[date]”, “[intitulé du poste]” (job title). When there is a choice, the options are separated by a slash, as in “[ma convention collective / mon contrat de travail]” (my collective agreement / my employment contract): keep the right one, delete the others. A bracket starting with “Facultatif” (optional) or “le cas échéant” (where applicable) is kept or removed as a whole.
No letter writes an amount, a duration or a date in advance: they are brackets, to fill in from your own papers (contract, payslips, collective agreement) or with Nego, who does the sums with the site's calculators.
17 letters, sorted by theme. Each one opens its procedure page, at the letter. The letters themselves are in French.
The sending method is written at the top of 14 letters out of 17: “Lettre recommandée avec accusé de réception” (recorded delivery with acknowledgement of receipt), usually followed by another possible route (handing it over in person against a signed receipt, or an email with acknowledgement of receipt). It is not a turn of phrase: recorded delivery or a signed receipt proves the date. For a resignation, for instance, the notice period starts on the day the post office first presents the letter, or on the day it is handed over in person.
On each page, “Fill it in with Nego” opens Nego with a request already written: fill in that template with you. It reads the procedure page and its template, asks you for what is missing, then hands back the complete letter in the conversation. Anything you do not give it stays in brackets.
The model reads and writes; the code calculates and checks. No figure shown ever comes from a language model.
Copying a letter sends nothing about you: the site only counts which letter was copied. Filled in with Nego, what you tell it is sent to the model to answer you and is not kept on our servers; the conversation stays in your browser. Full details in the privacy policy.
When the page calls for it, it is written at the top of the letter. Recorded delivery with acknowledgement of receipt, or handing it over in person against a signed receipt, gives you proof of the date: for a resignation, the notice period starts when the recorded letter is first presented, or on the day it is handed over. The law does not always require writing (a resignation can even be verbal), but that proof avoids disputes. The resignation letter
Because they go to an employer or an authority in France. On the English site, the procedure page is in English but the letter stays in French; Nego can explain every sentence of it.
Yes, it is a template. Keep the subject line, the dates and the request, and adapt the rest to your situation; if you are unsure about a sentence, ask Nego what it changes.
Check the page's step by step and your own papers first (contract, collective agreement, payslip). Nego leaves the bracket as long as you have not given it the information: it makes up neither dates nor durations.
