French general scheme, rates as of 26 October 2026. Net before income tax. Contract hours change the hourly gross and the full-time equivalent, not the contribution rates.
Three conversions done in code, then the engine for the net. The hourly rate becomes a monthly figure by multiplying it by the month's hours: 35 hours a week × 52 weeks ÷ 12 months = 151.67 h for full time, or your own weekly hours run through the same formula. The monthly figure becomes a yearly one by multiplying it by the number of months paid; the other way round, the yearly figure is divided by that number, then by the month's hours.
The net is then calculated by the modele-social engine on the average monthly gross, with the general scheme's contributions; the net hourly and yearly figures follow from the same conversions. If you enter a net figure, the gross is found by numerical inversion before the three periods are worked out.
Below 35 hours a week, the tool adds the full-time equivalent: the gross you would get for the same hourly rate on full time, and its net. That is the figure to compare with job ads, almost always quoted for full time.
So that two people get the same figure from the same gross pay, the site always calculates from the same baseline situation. Each line can be changed in the calculator's options where it matters.
A correct calculation for a typical situation is not your payslip. Here is what the tool does not know, so that you read the result as a reliable order of magnitude, not a promise.
First row: the hourly minimum wage (SMIC) in force since 1 June 2026 (service-public.gouv.fr). Full time, twelve months, non-cadre, estimated net before tax.

For €3,000 gross a month on full time, here are the part-time gross and net figures for a few common schedules, calculated with the engine's part-time rule (gross in proportion to hours, contributions adjusted). The full-time equivalent stays at €3,000 in every case: that is what the tool shows under the result as soon as your hours drop below 35 a week.

A part-time contract keeps the same hourly rate as full time in the same job: if you are offered a monthly amount, bring it back to the hour before judging it. For a complete calculation (share of full time, additional hours), use the part-time salary tool, and to put your hourly rate in context, the SMIC guide, calculated for 35 hours as for any other schedule.
Multiply the hourly rate by the month's hours: 35 hours a week × 52 weeks ÷ 12 months = 151.67 h. For €13.00 gross an hour, that gives €1,972 gross a month, €23,660 gross a year and an estimated €1,539 net a month before tax.
Because a month is neither four nor five weeks long: a year has 52 weeks for 12 months, so an average month is 52 ÷ 12 weeks. That is the monthly-pay rule, which smooths the salary from one month to the next whatever the number of days worked.
Pick “13 months”: gross annual pay becomes the monthly amount times thirteen, and the average monthly figure shown is the annual divided by twelve. For €3,000 paid each month, the annual figure is €39,000 and the average net €2,551 a month.
No: the net hourly figure shown is net monthly pay divided by the contract's hours. An overtime hour carries a premium and benefits from a contribution reduction and a capped tax exemption; the overtime tool works it out separately.
A figure alone is not enough to negotiate. Upload your CV: the site estimates your market value from INSEE salary data, then helps you answer the salary expectations question.
