Procedure · Unemployment and France Travail
Every month, between the 28th and the 15th of the following month, you confirm to France Travail that you are still looking for work and declare what has changed: hours worked, gross pay, training, sick leave. Without the update, you are no longer registered and that month's benefit is held back.
Nego follows the checked steps on this page, does the calculations with the site's tools and drafts your letters. It does not replace the administration: the procedure is completed on the official service.
Your registration ends and that month's benefit is not paid until your situation is sorted out. Re-register online straight away: losing your registration does not cancel your entitlement, which remains usable for its duration plus 3 years from when it opened.
Gross, without the cents, including paid-leave pay, bonuses and benefits in kind; not end-of-contract payments (such as the end-of-contract bonus). If you only know the net figure, the site's gross-to-net converter works out the gross.
Declare the number of hours and an estimated gross pay, then send the payslip as soon as you have it. France Travail pays a provisional advance, then adjusts it once it has the payslip.
If you update as soon as the window opens, the transfer is sent to your bank at the start of the following month: from 2 November 2026 for October, for example. Otherwise, it goes out on average 3 working days after your update, 5 at most; the money then arrives according to your bank's processing times.
Yes, on 39 49: the automated line runs 7 days a week, 24 hours a day (free service plus the cost of a call). From abroad, dial +33 1 77 86 39 49.
Rules checked on 27 October 2026 against the sources above. This page explains the procedure; it replaces neither the administration nor legal advice.
