Scale for 2025 income, calculated by the site's code. Tolls and parking come on top, with receipts; compare your actual expenses with the 10%.
The French tax mileage scale (2025 income, impots.gouv.fr) gives, in a single formula, the running cost of a vehicle by tax horsepower and kilometres driven in the year: fuel, maintenance, insurance and wear included. The simulator picks the bracket that matches your total mileage and applies its formula.
For the commute, it counts one round trip a day over the actual distance, capped at 40 km without justification. The scale applies once to the year's total: adding up two separate calculations would distort the result.
So that two people get the same figure from the same gross pay, the site always calculates from the same baseline situation. Each line can be changed in the calculator's options where it matters.
A correct calculation for a typical situation is not your payslip. Here is what the tool does not know, so that you read the result as a reliable order of magnitude, not a promise.

Vehicle costs are only part of actual expenses: the actual expenses or flat deduction comparison adds meals, remote work and other costs, and works out the tax with each option. The income tax simulator redoes the whole household calculation, and Nego answers questions about your situation.
Add up the business kilometres of the year, commuting included, find the row for your tax horsepower and the column for your mileage, then apply the formula (d = kilometres). Example: 20 km commute, 210 days, a 5 hp car: 8,400 km in the year, d × 0.357 + €1,395, that is €4,394 to deduct (impots.gouv.fr).
Yes, unless there are special circumstances: beyond 40 km, only 40 km count, unless you justify the distance (partner's job, job insecurity, difficulty finding housing near work) in a note attached to the return. A single round trip a day is counted, unless working hours or health require more (impots.gouv.fr).
Vehicle depreciation, maintenance, repairs, tyres, fuel and insurance. Tolls, parking and, for a car bought on credit, the loan interest in proportion to business use are deducted on top, with receipts.
The scale for fully electric vehicles is the petrol scale increased by 20%. Hybrids follow the petrol scale (impots.gouv.fr).
No: the scale for 2025 income is the same as the previous two years (service-public.gouv.fr). The scale for 2026 income will be published in the spring of the following return.
Yes: the scale prices vehicle costs as actual expenses, instead of the flat 10% deduction. That choice is only worth it if it exceeds the deduction, meals and other costs included; the site's actual expenses or 10% comparison does the calculation and works out the tax saved.
